A Release

Death knocked on his door

“It is Time”

Smile easing his tired look

Escaping into the glorious light

Leaving shadows behinds

Shadows which haunt us instead.

  1. Thanks for evoking Harry Potter. Always valued the human connections portrayed in those books. Death may take away the human but forever leaves the connection. Thanks for sharing your great work with us. 🙂

  2. Interesting idea of a shadow being left behind. I’d like to think that the shadows stayed behind to comfort others, but the word ‘haunt’ in the last line makes me think they might have other things in mind 🙂
